I believe that art has an appeal to most people at some level and at some point in time. My interest was initially as an appreciator of what other artists were able to individually put on canvas. This interest increased to a desire to see if I could translate what I saw, sensed and felt.
Dancing in and out of art, it seems I have always been on the edge creating – from my elementary art creations to my concentration in the field of creativity at the Master’s level. To my great pleasure, upon retirement, my husband and I moved to Beaufort, SC and this interest soon became a passion fueled by a desire to portray my interpretation of subjects through the use of brush, paint and canvas.
I firmly believe, that when interest becomes fueled by passion, then techniques and artistic actions more fully represent what the artist feels, senses and sees. My evolution as an artist has been accompanied by the evolution of my inner eye. Each time I finish a new piece, I sense that I have come closer and closer to conveying to the viewer what initially captured my interest and my heart. |
